Job Description

Boeing Global Services (BGS) is seeking an Field Service Representative - E-3F Aircraft to provide technical support the French AWACS at Air France’s depot facility in Toulouse, France. This position is for a locally hired employee authorized to work in France. Boeing will not assist with obtaining immigration or work authorization credentials.

In this position you'll act as a field service representative (FSR) supporting Air France operational and maintenance personnel with resolving aircraft mechanical and structural issues experienced during depot maintenance and helping resolve common issues and explaining system architecture in relation to the aircraft configuration.

This is a Field Operations position where FSRs are the in-person Boeing "face" to the customer, so personal appearance (grooming and dress), a helpful and friendly demeanor, and the ability to speak and write in a professional, unambiguous manner while working unsupervised for extended periods of time are paramount.

Working hours will nominally be 5-days a week (Mon-Fri), 8-hours per day. Additionally, FSRs must be willing to work flexible hours (i.e. different work shifts, weekends) as the job requires.

FSRs must be willing and able (potentially short notice) to travel to a variety of locations (domestic and/or international) to meet the needs of our customers.

Field Operations employees may be required to relocate to another Field Operations location based on customer needs and/or management requirements.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Providing technical support, guidance and expertise to Air France operational and maintenance personnel for FAF E-3F aircraft by
    • Troubleshooting system and sub-systems, including hardware and software, to determine an issue’s root cause
    • Investigating operational and maintenance questions and proposing solutions to resolve common issues.
    • Providing guidance on the correct interpretation and application of technical documentation
    • Supplementing local training by providing technical guidance and informal on-the-job training (OJT) for aircraft and mission systems architecture in relation to the aircraft configuration.
  • Field Service Reps are not permitted to recommend or authorize repairs that differ from technical information released by engineering

Work Environment:

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the Air France facility in Toulouse, France.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • A current NATO Secret clearance
  • Minimum 3 years of hands-on maintenance Boeing 707-based aircraft structures experience
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience with the E-3 AWACS aircraft systems and mission systems (less the radar)
  • French AWACS structural repair experience.  Experience with Boeing 707, 707-based military derivatives (e.g. AEW1, E-3, E-6, E-8, KC-135, C-137, etc.), classic 737, classic 747 platforms can be substituted in place of the French AWACS.
  • Experience using Boeing drawing systems including REDARS and PSDS
  • Ability to obtain a medical certificate to fly on French Air Force aircraft
  • Read, write, and speak French and English
  • Familiarity with U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and experience with technical data export control
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, wiring schematics, and maintenance task procedures
  • Familiarity using Aircraft Maintenance Manuals, Illustrated Part Catalogs
  • Experience teaching peers in a non-classroom setting
  • At the sole discretion of leadership, must be willing and able (on potentially short notice) to deploy/travel to a variety of locations (domestic and international) and for a variety of deployment durations to meet customer needs and the statement of work. Unless compelling reasons exist, failure to deploy/travel will be considered as a resignation.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Experience using Boeing web-based Information Systems such as MyBoeing Fleet and VECTOR (technical inquiry request system)
  • Previous military experience or extensive familiarity with military operations and maintenance procedures
  • Aircraft jacking procedure knowledge

Work Authorization:

Employer will not sponsor applicants for employment visa status.

This requisition is for an international, locally hired position in Europe, France Toulouse. Candidates must have current legal authorization to work and travel in Europe.

Boeing will not attempt to obtain immigration and labor sponsorship for applicants.

Relocation to Toulouse can be provided for candidates with legal authorization to work and travel in Europe.
