Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS) is looking for an Associate Systems EngineerLaunch (Level 2) to join our Core Stage Launch Engineering team to support the Space Launch System (SLS) program in Kennedy Space Center, Florida.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Planning Phase: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to prepare the processing and launch site for the arrival of the Core Stage vehicle. Ensure that all operational requirements are meticulously developed and released. Review and refine Work Authorization Documents (WADs) created by our launch processing contractors, ensuring they accurately capture all necessary requirements. Develop tooling requirements for use during Launch processing.

  • Live Support during Vehicle Processing: Represent Boeing as the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) during the vehicle processing phase, providing live engineering shipside support to swiftly resolve any issues that arise. Integrate with program subject matter experts to provide technical analysis of nonconformance or other issues that arise during vehicle processing.

  • Customer Engagement: Partner with our NASA customer to plan and develop performance and process requirements. 

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science

  • 2+ years of experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications

  • 2+ years of experience interfacing with customers

  • Willingness to participate in a shift rotation, including first and second shifts, as well as overnight

  • Flexibility to rotate weekends, as the team is currently supporting operations six days a week and transitioning to round-the-clock operations

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Manufacturing Engineering experience 

  • Aerospace Industry experience

  • Familiarity with Lean Boeing Production System standards

  • Proactive problem-solver with a desire to learn and grow

  • Team player who thrives in dynamic environments and embraces challenges

  • Detail-oriented, with a commitment to quality and safety

  • Strong communication skills, ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Summary pay range: $81,600 - $110,400
