The Boeing Company is looking for a Test & Evaluation Engineer to join our team in St Charles, MO. 

This role is for a weapons Flight Test Engineer (FTE) and control-room test conductor, focused on test planning, test execution, and test reporting for a variety of weapons programs, primarily Direct Attack (e.g. JDAM, SDB, GLSDB, B-61, MOP, HAAWC, etc.). This role will require frequent business travel (up to 75%), occasionally on short notice, to various government ranges and customer locations in support of test events.

This role entails hands-on elements, including weapon builds, software loading, test support equipment setup, and other field activities. The FTE is the primary Boeing flight test focal while on travel and therefore requires excellent leadership ability, communication skills (verbal and written), and a strong sense of personal ownership for the mission.

Our team is currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including; Entry-Level, Associate and Mid-Level Test & Evaluation Engineers.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Act as a flight test engineer (FTE) and test conductor on a variety of weapons programs (JDAM, SDB, GLSDB, MOP, B-61, Harpoon, SLAM-ER, etc.)

  • Work with Boeing, Government, and other Military Contractors to define and document test requirements and test procedures that will meet test objectives while ensuring safety, quality, and test efficiency

  • Support weapon assembly, software loading, and functional checkouts of weapons. Manage and verify configuration of weapon hardware and software under test. Support weapons and flight termination system checks to verify system health prior to test

  • Support the execution of the test program, including builds, ground testing, environmental quantification, safe separation, carrier suitability, captive carriage, guided release, etc.

  • Travel to various domestic and international test ranges, sometimes with limited advance notice, in support of dynamic flight test schedules

  • Coordinate with flight test and range personnel to develop, update, maintain, and configuration control real-time displays needed for making real-time flight test conduct decisions

  • Facilitate test planning meetings, test readiness reviews, pre-travel briefings, test document reviews, and post-test reporting documentation

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science 

  • Willing to travel domestically and internationally up to 75% of the time

  • Experience leading or managing projects and/or teams 

  • Excellent written/verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Level 2: 1 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Level 3: 3 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Experience working on lab and/or flight test programs

  • Experience working on military aircraft and/or weapons programs (e.g. JDAM, SDB, MOP, Harpoon, SLAM-ER)

Shift:

This position is for 1st shift; however, various shifts, nights, weekends, and alternate shifts may be required to support program objectives.

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Summary pay range for Entry-Level: $68,000-$92,000

Summary pay range for Associate Level: $79,900-$108,100

Summary pay range for Mid-Level: $95,200-$128,800

Security Clearance

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim U.S. Secret Clearance Pre-Start and final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.
