Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is looking for an Airframe and Introductory Cost Subject Matter Expert (Level 5) to join our Sales & Marketing organization in Renton, WA

The ideal candidate will serve as the airframe and introductory cost expert with credibility inside of Boeing and to the external marketplace.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Conduct detailed analyses focusing on industry data, publications, customer data, competitor data using Excel and other tools
  • Work closely with Sales and other Boeing organizations to help maximize the airframe maintenance and introductory cost value of Boeing airplanes – including, but not limited to, initial spares investment/provisioning, maintenance tooling, on airplane and off airplane maintenance costs
  • Perform competitive analysis, analyzing qualitative airplane information and quantifying value
  • Lead the development and updates of introductory and maintenance cost value stories using PowerPoint for each of our airplane products, comparing against competing products, including emerging competitors
  • Lead interactions with engineering groups to influence them in areas that are key value drivers for introductory and maintenance costs, for example, spares organization, reliability and maintainability, Global Services, distribution services, fleet support, digital solutions, and airplane programs
  • Create and improve current modeling methodologies with sound solutions that are understandable, cost efficient, and effective
  • Continually seek new, innovative ways to present Boeing products and services favorably in the market to a variety of audiences including airlines, lessors, maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MROs), media, and the financial community 
  • Develop, maintain, and utilize market forecasting models to identify business and trends
  • Analyze and review market trends to identify customer requirements
  • Identify, analyze, and solve technical and business challenges to quantify and differentiate the value of existing and future Boeing airplanes and aviation services 

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher
  • 3+ years of experience in aircraft maintenance economics and initial spares provisioning at an aircraft manufacturer, airline, large aircraft operation (100+ seats), or Maintenance Repair and Overhaul (MRO) organization specializing in spares provisioning
  • 3+ years of experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
  • 3+ years of experience performing data analyses  
  • Able to travel up to 25% of the time both domestically and internationally as needed

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 5+ years of airline/MRO spares provisioning experience
  • 5+ years of airline/MRO maintenance experience
  • Understanding of aircraft maintenance costs (line, checks, and components), including spares
  • Experience with commercial airplanes (100+ seats)
  • Experience creating and maintaining economic methods and models
  • Ability to prepare and present comprehensive studies to airlines, lessors, industry forums, executive management and trade associations
  • Expertise to serve as a resource within Boeing, capable and proficient in the areas of: aircraft operational costs, introductory costs, and maintenance costs

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Summary pay range: $157,250 - $212,750
