We are seeking experienced Aerospace and Mechanical Engineers to join our team in Design Engineering, Structural Analysis, and Fleet Customer Support at our Port Melbourne office on a full-time permanent basis based 100% onsite. We are looking for innovative thinkers, systematic problem solvers, and technical pioneers to join our diverse and dynamic Engineering team.

This is critical work to keep us at the forefront of aerospace and innovation and a great opportunity for Engineers to grow and develop their skills whilst making a real contribution to a world-class engineering function.


Position Responsibilities:

The key responsibilities you will need to perform include, but are not limited to:

  • Developing and integrating structural requirements to establish robust system designs.
  • Coordinating with various engineering teams to define and optimise the product's environment.
  • Guiding product design and verifying structural integrity using analytical methods, finite element models, and simulations throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Creating detailed test plans and configurations, executing tests, and analysing results to ensure systems and components meet all requirements and specifications.
  • Defining and documenting certification and test results to validate compliance for customers and regulatory agencies.
  • Investigating in-service product failures, analysing data, and recommending improvements to enhance performance and reliability.
  • Developing and implementing analytical processes and tools to improve the effectiveness, quality, and efficiency of engineering efforts.
  • Designing, maintaining, and modifying structural components using 3-D CAD tools, providing comprehensive product definitions to other engineering groups and stakeholders.
  • Managing supplier development, testing, and production activities, collaborating with suppliers to optimise designs and achieve program objectives.
  • Innovating new design processes and tools to enhance the overall effectiveness and quality of the engineering development effort.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills / Experience):

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, ideally Aerospace or Mechanical.
  • Relevant technical experience in either structural analysis, design engineering, or customer support engineering in new product development, design organization, or airline engineering.
  • Experience with relevant software, depending on your role; Finite Element Models (FEM), Advanced CAD, analytical and post processing tools.
  • Demonstrated skills in problem solving.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Excellent cross-functional teaming, collaborative problem solving, building lasting relationships & proficiency in written and verbal communication.
  • Experience with CATIA V5 software is highly desirable.

Classification Level: This is an Enterprise Agreement position classified as Engineer / Scientist Level 2A. The successful candidate will be required to complete pre-employment checks and a 3-month probationary period.
