The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) organization is seeking an Associate Manufacturing Engineer to join our team in Oklahoma City, OK.The selected candidate will be responsible for fabrication planning and installation by providing design review, manufacturing plan authorship, fabrication sourcing, interface with procurement, and support during the build/installation. The primary focus of this position is the support of the design & fabrication efforts on the B-52J Commercial Engine Replacement Program.

Manufacturing Engineers are owners of the build plan and ensure compliance to design configuration and process requirements, Manufacturing Engineering performs Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA) analysis and develops an integrated build plan consisting of work instructions for assembly/fabrication, kitting, tooling, inspection requirements, and other outputs to ensure fabrication meets design, test, and program requirements.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Focus on working with the team to create, revise and review the build plans and installation plans for the B-52J Commercial Reengine Program

  • Experience and knowledge of manufacturing, methods, fabrication processes (e.g., forming, stamping, machining, heat treatment, machines/machine tools, cutting tools and fluids, instrumentation, data acquisition and control systems)

  • Assists in creating work instructions for installing components, systems and other assemblies

  • Create, revise, and maintain production and manufacturing process documents and training materials

  • Ensure all documentation is accurate, up-to-date, and compliant with industry standards

  • Conduct routine data analysis to identify discrepancies and areas for improvement

  • Follows procedures, publication standards and government/customer specifications for authoring

  • Maintenance of data in Web based or on-line based tools

  • Work with the project team, subject matter experts, and use existing documentation to understand content need

  • Providing guidance and mentoring team during project execution

  • Able to work independently with minimum supervision, positive demeanor and highest ethics

  • Proactively seek information and direction to complete the statement of work successfully. Meet assigned production schedules and deadlines

  • Perform detailed analysis and interpretation of source data (e.g. Engineering Drawings, Modifications) to understand the impact it should have on the product

  • Work collaboratively with multi-functional team. Must be willing to work flexible hours to collaborate with Boeing personnel around the world

  • Awareness of AS9100 D quality management system and Ensure compliance with company quality management system requirements

  • Resolve technical problems of significant impact to performance, cost or schedule.

  • Develop and maintain relationships / partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, and partners to deploy collaborative plans and execute on projects

  • Good analytical approach for problem solving, driving the innovations with speed and agility

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location.

This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. secret clearance Post Start is required. 

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science

  • 3+ years of experience working in a production and/or manufacturing environment

  • 1+ years of experience managing projects

  • 1+ years of experience working in a design engineering, industrial engineering or manufacturing role

  • Ability to read, understand and interpret engineering drawings

  • General Drawing Interpretation & GD&T knowledge

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 3+ years of experience working in an aircraft modification environment

  • Experience in support of military customers

  • Experience in Project management

  • Boeing BDS Manufacturing Engineering experience

  • Experience in ME and processes across multiple engineering disciplines

  • Experience with GOLDespCATIAV5

  • Experience with IVT

  • Experience with Microsoft Office

  • Experience with Manufacturing Readiness Assessments

  • Experience with Program Manufacturing Plans

  • Experience with EBOM/MBOM reconciliation

  • Ability to read, understand and interpret engineering drawings

  • General Drawing Interpretation & GD&T knowledge

Summary pay range: $70,550 - $95,450
