The Boeing Company is currently seeking a Software IPT Lead to support our Flight Software Team located in El Segundo, CA. In this role, the individual will lead a team with design, implementation, and test of flight software with a focus on leadership, quality, earned value, and development of new capabilities for current and future satellite programs.  This position will support the Boeing Defense Services (BDS) business organization.

We are seeking a Level 2 IPT Lead that is passionate about space and excited to work in a multi-disciplined, collaborative engineering environment that supports the design, development, and implementation of software for existing and emerging Boeing commercial and government space programs.

This exciting position requires demonstrated experience as a Control Account Manager (CAM), software development full life cycle (requirements, design, code, test), ability to lead a team, and the clear exhibition of superior judgment and decision making to engineer new solutions and support existing capabilities for multiple software programming projects.  Demonstrated critical thinking and troubleshooting skills are required.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Full life-cycle development including requirements analysis, software architecture, designs, coding, unit test, integration and formal qualification.
  • Assisting with the development, documentation and maintenance of architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces and designs for software systems.
  • Control Account Manager (CAM) – Earned Value, Metrics/Status reporting
  • Developing software verification plans, test procedures and test environments
  • Working and interfacing with a technically diverse user community and a multi-disciplined integrated product team (systems and software).
  • Highly motivated and must work well in a team environment

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at El Segundo, CA.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):

  • Ability to obtain a DoD Secret US Security Clearance (Pre-Start), for which the US Government requires US Citizenship.
  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
  • 9+ or more years of experience designing and developing software for a real-time or non-real-time system
  • 10+ years of experience in software development using languages such as C, C++, Java, Rust, or Python
  • 2+ years of experience as a Control Account Manager (CAM)

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Experience with the full software development lifecycle that includes requirements analysis through Formal Qualification
  • Experience using team collaboration tools including GitLab, Bitbucket, JIRA, and Confluence
  • Experience in embedded real-time software development
  • Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 14 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+9 years' related work experience, Master+12 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Travel: No travel is anticipated for this position.

Relocation:

This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.  Basic relocation will be offered for eligible internal candidates.

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. 

Summary Pay Range: $169,000 - $227,000
