The Boeing Research & Technology (BR&T) Disruptive Computing & Networking (DC&N) Software capability is seeking a Senior Process & Tools Software Engineer in El Segundo, CA or Huntington Beach, CA.  

This position is assigned to the Disruptive Computing & Networks (DC&N) team to ensure efficiency and effectiveness of the engineering value stream; this

position will work cross-functionally to accomplish engineering business objectives.

The ideal candidate develops, selects, tailors and deploys software processes, tools and metrics. Plans, executes and documents software and software-driven development projects. Serves as a subject matter expert for software domains, system-specific issues, processes and regulations.

The ideal candidate will be an excellent communicator and have demonstrated experience working with multiple engineering tools & processes related to software and software-driven hardware engineering.


In this position you will work directly with the engineering teams and provide technical support on the software processes and tools deployed on DC&N programs. You will be working in collaboration with Boeing process and tools experts from various business units and the product teams to deploy processes, tools, and resolve any issues.

Position Responsibilities:
•    Develops, documents, implements, provides consultation on the application of, and ensures compliance with, requirements for use of engineering tools, processes and standards
•    Provides informal training and assistance in the utilization of processes and tools and supports the integration of engineering designs
•    With a customer focus mindset, provides direct Engineering processes and tools end-user support resolving issues and communicating productivity enhancements and procedures; continually enhances and maintains processes
•    Leads development, documentation, implementation and consultation of the application of, and compliance with, requirements for the use of engineering tools, processes and standards. Guides training and provides subject matter expertise in the utilization of processes, tools and integration of engineering designs.
•    Leads the collection, analysis and validation of engineering performance metrics and coordinates organizational requirements to support business needs.
•    Works under minimal direction.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):


•    Active TS/SCI U.S. Security Clearance (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active.) and the ability to complete a CI (Counter Intelligence) polygraph after employment start is required / post-start.
•    5+ years of experience with CATIA V5 or other computer aided design software
•    Experience working collaboratively to reach decisions that are mutually acceptable to multiple engineering and support teams
•    Experience with Agile Methodologies (SAFe, Scrum, Kanban, XP)

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

•    Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics or other technical degree
•    Active Top Security/SCI with Counter Intelligence scope Poly Clearance with adjudication completed within the last 5 years. A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active.
•    7+ years of experience designing and developing tools & processes for software, hardware, or firmware
•    Excellent communication skills
•    Excellent Problem solving/Investigation/Probing Skills
•    Experience with formal/informal training
•    Experience with engineering design concepts and techniques
•    Experience using Gitlab and/or Jira

Summary Pay Range - $130,900 - $177,100
