Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) has and exciting opportunity for a Senior Program Management SpecialistIntegrated Product Team (IPT) Lead to join the Space Electronics Products Team based in El Segundo, CA.

In this role you will lead others and direct phases of cross-organizational projects with oversight and management responsibility for a portfolio of medium size projects in support of our organizational goals and objectives. You will need to demonstrate proficiency in all project management areas in accordance with accepted project management standards in the industry (e.g., PMI, Project Management Body of Knowledge [PMBOK], ANSI, and ISO standards) and will be required to maintain performance management and associated reporting.

You will develop program organizational, work structures, top level program and execution plans, facilitate the resolution of program issues. You will support the programs managers in leading program execution by coordinating program metrics and Integrate the implementation of the Program Management Best Practices.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Functions as the primary contact to Identify key stakeholder requirements and objectives.

  • Develops, integrates and analyzes integrated cost, schedule, technical, and risk management plans for high reliability electronic unit hardware development and delivery

  • Maintain Earned Value baselines, Estimates at Completion, Weekly status & Variances to Plan.

  • Leads planning efforts to determine impacts and constraints involving product development, production rates, process improvement and program initiatives

  • Coordinates with programs and capabilities to optimize unit hardware production pipelines and deliveries.

  • Defines required resources from space electronics engineering, operations, and supplier management to build cross functional unit level teams necessary to execute electronic units design, development, and delivery.

  • Ensures assigned individuals are executing the identified and assigned tasks and providing appropriate tracking and reporting per plan.

  • Perform unit sell-offs, project close-out, culminating with lessons learned for incorporation into future project plans and unit hardware roadmaps.

  • Provides in-depth analysis of project(s) as well as projected and historical reports for incorporation into future product/project plans

  • Formulates and maintain statement of work (SOW) for units procured by subcontract and coordinate related make/buy assessments.

  • Provides assessment of team and team member performance to appropriate management

  • Cultivates solutions to complex problems that require ingenuity and innovation.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

This position requires a successfully completed Tier 5 Investigation (T5), formerly known as a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) by the federal government within the last 5 years, or requires candidate to have been enrolled in a Continuous Vetting program within the last 5 years.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher

  • 5+ years’ experience managing projects and utilizing standard project management tools

  • 5+ years’ experience as a CAM (cost account manager) using EVM (earned value management)

  • 5+ years' experience in a leadership role, leading teams or projects to successful completion

  • 5+ years’ experience in a production environment

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 5+ years' experience working with high reliability electronics

  • Experience with product development, test planning and/or design work

  • Project Management Professional (PMP/PMI) Certification

Typical Education & Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 14 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+9 years' related work experience, Master+12 years' related work experience, 18 years' related work experience, etc.).

Relocation:

Relocation assistance is not a negotiable benefit for this position. Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense. 

Travel:

Position may require travel up to 10% of the time.

Summary pay range: USD $146,200 – $197,800
