Job Description

Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) / Space Mission Systems (SMS) has an exciting opportunity for Boeing Space Computer Programs (BSCP) Senior Manager to join our Common Products team in El Segundo, California.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Manages product line of BSCP technologies across Commercial and Defense markets
  • Drives for common technologies, Software/Firmware architectures, design and build processes across programs
  • Oversees roadmap for company and program funded developments
  • Maintains relationship with key telecom suppliers to help maintain and advance their capabilities in space, and seek alternate suppliers or verticals as needed
  • Works with Capability leaders to develop talent in design, manufacturing, and test of BSC programs deliverables
  • Manages employees performing business and program management activities in the area of Avionics Architecture Design, Integration, and Test
  • Develops and executes project and process plans, implements policies and procedures and sets operational goals
  • Acquires resources for projects and processes, provides technical management of suppliers and leads process improvements
  • Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports
  • Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes
  • Establishes Program Management Best Practices (PMBP) program goals and establishes a PMBP improvement plan
  • Manages, develops and motivates employees

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

This position is for 1st shift.

This position requires a current Tier 5 (T5), formerly known as a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) (U.S. Citizenship required) or requires candidate agreed to enter a Continuous Vetting program.

Special Program Access or other Government Access Requirements are mandatory for this position.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher
  • More than 10 years of experience in a leadership role, leading teams or projects to successful completion
  • Experience as a Cost Account Manager (CAM) or experience creating estimates

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Experience generating budgets, working with program health metrics, and critical path analysis
  • More than 3 years of experience working with Space Flight Hardware in Electronics, Array Antennas, and/or Digital Payload Sub-Systems

Travel:

Position may require travel up to 10% of the time (typically one week per quarter).

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Summary pay range: $192,950 - $261,050
