Boeing Defense, Space, and Security (BDS) is seeking a high performing professional as a Senior Product Lifecycle Engineering Manager (Level L). This is an exciting opportunity for a high performing professional to join our Boeing Space Launch System (SLS) Team. This position can be located in Huntsville, Alabama; Kennedy Space Center, Florida or New Orleans, Louisiana and supports the Senior Manager of SLS System Engineering Integration and Test (SEIT) and a direct report to Space Intelligence & Weapon Systems (SI&WS) Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) Capability Manager.  Boeing is responsible for the design, development, test and production of the SLS Stages Contract. NASA’s Space Launch System will provide a critical heavy lift capability powering people and cargo beyond our moon and into deep space.

Responsibilities include:

  • Manages employees performing engineering and technical activities in the areas of Engineering Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), Configuration and Data Management (CDM).
  • Develops and executes integrated program plans, procedures and processes in regards to the CDM disciplines (Configuration Identification, Change/Baseline Management, Configuration Status Accounting, Configuration Verification/Audits, Data Management and Release) and leads process improvements
  • Acquires resources for PLM/CDM activities - forecasts, obtains and manages personnel, facilities, services, equipment and tools  
  • Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, and peers. Interface/coordinate with NASA CDM Peer in support of contractual insight/oversight requirements.
  • Provides oversight and approvals to ensure technical approach and deliverables comply with customer, company, quality, industry and regulatory requirements.
  • Communicates policies and directives to enhance employee awareness and clarify expectations.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location.

This position requires the ability to obtain access to a National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) facility.

This position must meet export control compliance requirements. To meet export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.15 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher.
  • 10+ years of engineering experience.
  • 3+ years of management experience.

Relocation:

Relocation assistance is not a negotiable benefit for this position. Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. 

Summary pay range: $146,200 – 197,800
