Job Description

The Strategic Missiles and Defense Systems (SMDS) finance team has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Finance Manager in Huntsville, Alabama, who will report to the SMDS CFO. You are a key part of our finance team, responsible for leading a team of analysts in the finance execution of development and production programs and overall program financials. In this role, you will partner across functions to identify, implement and drive change to improve the overall financial performance of the Ground-based Missile Defense and Strategic Deterrence Systems (GMD & SDS) programs.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the overall finance execution of GMD & SDS programs, including developing and executing project plans, implementing policies, and setting operational goals

  • Leads financial control, business integration, program planning, forecasting, and analysis

  • Oversees the Estimate at Completion (EAC) process, ensuring accuracy and completeness

  • Manages, motivates, and provides developmental opportunities for employees, fostering a culture of continuous improvement

  • Develops and maintains relationships with executive partners, stakeholders, peers, and direct reports, while aligning business priorities with key performance indicators

  • Proactively identifies opportunities and risks, navigating ambiguity to drive results

  • Presents complex findings with clear, compelling visual aids and relatable terminology

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • 5+ years of leadership experience in a Contracts/Finance related position such as Financial Operations, Cost Management, Accounting, Estimating, Financial Planning, Contracts or Procurement Financial Analysis (PFA)

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business or a related field

  • Experience communicating with internal and external customers

  • 3+ years experience in a role which required negotiating skills to influence decisions

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Experience with Department of Defense (DOD) Earned Value Management (EVM) contracting

  • Experience with people development and leading cross functional teams

  • Experience with EAC development, Cost Management, and Program Acquisition/ Execution/ Closure

  • Experience leading through influence and partnering with cross-functional teams on projects and initiatives

Summary pay range: $143,650 - $194,350

Security Clearance

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.
