Job Description

The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) organization is seeking a Systems Engineering and Integration (SE&I) Manager for Integrated Air and Missile Defense (IAMD) Patriot Advanced Capability (PAC-3) in Huntsville, AL. This manager will be responsible for engineering integration across PAC-3’s Programs and Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) by leading Project and Systems Engineers.

The IAMD Engineering team is responsible for designing Radar seeker upgrades and next generation concepts, as well as supporting production and special test equipment design. This program simultaneously engages in all aspects of the system development lifecycle, including concurrent design, test and manufacturing, and the leader in this role will support each of these lifecycle areas through systems engineering execution. This long-term program is rapidly growing in Huntsville due to design updates, production growth, and Boeing facilities consolidations.

A successful SE&I Manager will be responsible for the technical quality and successful execution of engineering priorities and projects for both IPTs and Program management. The manager will oversee project engineers representing multiple skill areas and will plan, identify, and coordinate metrics and resources required to support the growing demands for PAC-3 production and development efficiency. Additionally, they will develop and implement the engineering strategy and processes for the team under their responsibility.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Day-to-day direction of a team of SE&I project engineers to include management, development, and motivation of employees.
  • Responsible for engineering integrity and excellence of all engineering and technical activities of the SE&I project engineering team.
  • Integration of the SE&I project engineers’ activities with the other engineering disciplines and PAC-3 program stakeholders.
  • Setting clear priorities to meet customer/stakeholder and business goals.
  • Responsible for management of staffing levels, performance evaluations, performance development, and career counseling.
  • Responsible for deploying Boeing Engineering Initiatives and best practices, as appropriate, for improved quality and efficiency.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.

  • Excellent communications skills, verbal and written.
  • Ability to effectively communicate at all levels of management, customers, and partners.
  • Master of Science in an engineering discipline.
  • Previous management experience.

  • Leadership skills to lead and influence positive outcomes.
  • Previous experience in leading, mentoring, and engaging individuals and teams.
  • Experience providing active mentorship and career guidance.

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. 

Summary pay range: $129,200 - $174,800
