The Boeing Company is currently seeking a Retrofit Engineering Technician (Associate & Mid-Level) to support Boeing Global Services in Hazelwood, MO.

The F-15 Retrofit Engineering Team’s mission is to provide modification, retrofit, and support for the F-15. Our vision is to provide world class, high quality, and timely Retrofit Planning, Time Compliance Technical Order and Retrofit Installation Instruction Authoring, Retrofit Project Management, Validation and Verification, Retrofit Kit Management and Installation Support. This position will assist in providing retrofit & modification support for the F-15.

The selected candidate will work with a team of retrofit and design engineers to provide retrofit solutions to our Air Force customers. The team reviews engineering drawings, authors Air Force TCTOs/Workbooks, and supports certification and verification/validation efforts.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Identifies and defines requirements for retrofit kit definition, development and delivery.
  • Reviews engineering data packages to determine configuration requirements.
  • Provides technical resolution for retrofit and modification related problems.
  • Prepares draft document and kit delivery schedule in coordination with overall modification schedule.
  • Drafts modification instructions to include parts/materials/consumable listings and disposition requirements for removed assemblies.
  • Researches material/parts and procedures during development of modification instructions to identify issues with parts/materials/consumables.
  • Validates engineering bill of materials and analyze gaps.
  • Prepares and authors retrofit documentation and coordinates technical and logistics requirements needed to support retrofit modifications.
  • Implements retrofit kit schedules in accordance with contract requirements.
  • Coordinates issues with engineering, technical data, tooling and material.
  • Coordination of resources (personnel, facilities and equipment)
  • Documents and resolves retrofit kit quality validation/verification discrepancies.
  • Overall coordination and pre-planning of technical and administrative support for deployed contract field teams.
  • Assists in development of estimates and analyses for retrofit projects.
  • Ensuring repair parts, kit availability (if applicable) and coordinating with the government, and other contractors to determine work content and availability of end item articles.
  • Critical thinking skills needs to synthesize data
  • Domestic travel will be required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • 1+ years' experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings
  • Experience with technical writing
  • Experience with basic blueprint reading
  • Experience using REDARs, IQDS
  • Experience working with Technical Orders (TOs) and/or Time Compliance Technical Orders (TCTOs)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite
  • Ability and willingness to travel 25% or greater both domestically and internationally

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 3+ years of higher education and/or related work experience (Higher education includes college, university, technical school, licensing/certification programs, etc.) (Level 3)
  • Associate’s degree or higher
  • Military Experience
  • 3+ years' experience in aircraft maintenance and/or Retrofit and Repair
  • Experience with F-15 fighter aircraft structures, hydro-mechanical electrical, repair and maintenance

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.  

Summary Pay Range Associate (Level 2): $67,150- $90,850

Summary Pay Range Mid-Level (Level 3): $79,050- $106,950

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.
