Boeing Commercial Airlines is excited to offer opportunities for a Millwright A to join our Facilities team in Everett and Renton, Washington.

Join our team as a Millwright A, where your expertise in rigging and machinery installation will be vital to our operations. In this role, you will lead and mentor lower-classification employees while performing high rigging tasks to move and position heavy equipment and machinery with precision. With hands-on experience in demolition, excavation, and fabrication, you will contribute to the construction of foundations and curbs while operating various lifts and material handling equipment. Position Responsibilities:

  • Perform high rigging necessary for construction, millwright, and maintenance work, including moving heavy machinery and equipment.

  • Lead and check the work of lower-classification employees engaged in moving and positioning heavy equipment and real property.

  • Work from blueprints, specifications, sketches, or verbal instructions to complete assignments accurately.

  • Rig block and tackle and other moving aids in compliance with safety regulations to ensure adequate mechanical power transmission.

  • Operate powered rolling equipment, floor-operated cranes, and hoists to accomplish work assignments.

  • Determine the sequence of work and troubleshoot problems, developing plans to resolve issues as needed.

  • Perform high rigging for mobile cranes and helicopters to move heavy loads to elevated work areas, ensuring proper weight and balance.

  • Use hand signals to safely direct cranes and forklifts during load movements.

  • Lock out, tag out, and try out machinery to prevent injuries while working on or around equipment.

  • Move, set up, and level machines, disassembling them as necessary before relocation.

  • Lay out and erect steel shelving, cantilever racks, and pallet racks according to drawings or sketches.

  • Perform demolition projects and excavation work using appropriate tools and equipment, ensuring a safe work area.

  • Fabricate steel cables and cut chain stock to length, attaching necessary hardware as required.

  • Construct curbs, small foundations, and perform concrete work around machinery bases.

  • Operate lifts and material handling equipment to access work areas and move equipment, while handling hazardous materials in compliance with safety regulations.

Physical Demands and Potential Hazards:

  • Perform physical tasks that include lifting weights ranging from 10-15 lbs to 15-35 lbs.

  • Engage in various movements such as reaching, handling, turning, twisting, lifting, lowering, climbing, balancing, bending, kneeling, crouching, and squatting.

  • Work in environments that may involve contact with metals, solvents, and coolants.

  • Operate in proximity to moving parts and tools, sharp cutters, and potential slipping hazards.

  • Adapt to varying noise levels and atmospheric conditions.

  • Utilize personal safety gear to protect face/eyes, hands/arms, and feet while performing job duties.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience utilizing and following detailed work instructions, reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings.

  • 3+ years of experience with using precision measuring tools and equipment such as micrometers, calipers and dial indicators, etc.

  • 3+ years of experience using hand tools and/or hand-held power tools.

  • 3+ years of experience lifting and rigging to perform all high rigging necessary to accomplish construction, millwright and maintenance work including the moving of machinery equipment.

  • Ability to push, pull, move 35 pounds.

  • Ability to complete fall protection certification.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Material Handling Experience and knowledge of Roto hammer fastening equipment.

  • Experience working with condition-based maintenance (CMMS) software.

Typical Education & Experience:

High school graduate or GED preferred.

Summary pay range: $40.00 - $54.24
