The Boeing Test & Evaluation (BT&E) team is seeking a Test & Evaluation Instrumentation Technician (Experienced or Senior) to join our team in Berkeley, MO.This position will provide test and evaluation technician support in aircraft production environments while working alongside production operations personnel.

The St. Louis County, Berkeley Site will be the primary worksite or home base, however, this position will immediately support an extended Domestic Temporary Assignment at Edwards Air Force Base in Edwards, CA in support of T7A Test Execution activities. Main responsibilities include fabricating and maintaining the T7A instrumentation system, to include installing a sensors and associated wiring onto aircraft parts and assemblies per engineering requirements. Sensor types primarily include Strain Gages and Accelerometers. Other types include Thermocouples, RTDs, Pressure Transducers, etc.

Process responsibilities will require coordination with Instrumentation Operations Engineers and Design Build Manufacturing Engineers, ability to interpret engineering drawings, locating, surface prep, hand sanding, cleaning, handling hazardous materials such as solvents and cleaners, adhesives, and sealants, wire fabrication, electrical terminations, soldering, crimping, wire routing, continuity checks, labeling, sealing. Ability to troubleshoot electrical circuits and wiring is required.

Accessibility may require working for periods while standing, kneeling, working from stair ladders, mobile lift platforms, scissor lifts, boom lifts, or supported by overhead support systems.  Personnel Protective Equipment (PPE) such as eye protection and hard toe shoes are required.

BT&E is currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including Experienced and Senior level Test & Evaluation Instrumentation Technicians.

Position Responsibilities Include:

  • Plan, conduct and document tests on products, systems, components, materials, and manufacturing processes and technologies
  • Design, fabricate, build and analyze test systems, materials, components, software and methodologies
  • Coordinate test requirements, determines test methods and capabilities
  • Conduct system test preparations by coordinating system integration, fabrication, modification, setup, checkout and teardown
  • Conduct tests, analyzes data and documents results; participates in test readiness reviews
  • Troubleshoot and resolve laboratory and test-related problems
  • Coordinate test laboratory activities and maintenance and repairs
  • Coach and train others
  • Work under general direction

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Associate’s degree or higher, a technical certificate or degree, or 4 or more years of equivalent technical experience
  • Experience fabricating, installing, routing, terminating, soldering, and repairing electrical wiring harnesses; or any variety of electrical components, and associated equipment
  • Aircraft experience with flight ramp operations

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 5 or more years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience installing aircraft modifications to include fabricating and installing aircraft electrical system wiring, connectors, electrical components or avionics boxes
  • Experience with aerospace assembly and/or electrical fabrication

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.  

Summary pay range for experienced level: $55,250 – $74,750

Summary pay range for senior level: $63,750 - $86,250
