The Boeing Company is currently seeking a T-7A Mission Systems Equipment Engineer to join the Hardware Engineering team located in St. Louis, MO. This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) business organization.

The T-7 Red Hawk Advanced Pilot Training Program requires a Displays Mission Systems Engineer to support the development, qualification and production of mission computing, communications, navigation, surveillance, and datalink avionics. The Hardware Engineer will be responsible for the technical performance of critical suppliers to ensure integration and verification of installed system performance.

 The T-7A Mission Systems includes new development and off-the-shelf hardware integrated in an advanced laboratory and being verified in flight test. The Mission Systems development activities include hardware requirements decomposition, qualification test, laboratory and aircraft integration, formal verification test, and production support. The program is developing derivative aircraft concepts for technology demonstrators and training aircraft for a variety of domestic and international opportunities.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Develop, document and maintain electronic and electrical system requirements according to contract requirements

  • Test and validate to ensure system designs meet operational and functional requirements

  • Resolve product integration issues and production anomalies

  • Monitor supplier performance to ensure system integration and compliance with requirements

  • Solves problems concerning fielded hardware and software over the entire product lifecycle

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science

  • 3+ years of experience researching, developing, or evaluating electrical, electronic, computer, software and/or firmware requirements

  • 3+ years of experience with the design, development, and integration of complex electronic systems or subsystems

  • Ability to travel to domestic or international at least 10%

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering

  • Experience in the Aerospace Industry

  • Experience using good communication, analytical, and organizational skills and be able to work in a team environment

  • Experience creating, developing, and/or maintaining engineering processes

  • Experience with electronic/electrical system designs based on requirements

  • Highly motivated, self-starting and comfortable dealing with diverse people and disciplines

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.  


Summary pay range:

Level 2: $79,900 - $108,100

Level 3: $96,050 - $129,950
