The Boeing F-22 Program is looking for a Software Safety Engineer (Associate & Mid-Level) to join our Sustainment and Modernization team in Berkeley, MO. This is an excellent opportunity to work on challenging projects and advance your career in the aviation engineering field. Position Responsibilities:

  • Support hardware and software change reviews
  • Provide support for our internal software certification process
  • Perform hazard tracking and risk resolution via System/Subsystem Hazard Analysis
  • Conduct safety assessments and technical safety memos, including: Engineering Review Boards, Enhancement Projects, address aircraft safety concerns, and track safety critical items.
  • Maintenance and development of Aviation Critical Safety Item (ACSI) list
  • Support System Safety Working Groups
  • Support fleet incidents and mishap investigations
  • Be comfortable briefing all levels of management, program office, and USAF personnel
  • Support the F-22 for any and all aircraft/software safety concerns

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
  • Experience with software certification processes and standards, such as DO-178C or similar, and experience supporting internal software certification activities
  • Experience in a role that required strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively brief and collaborate with various stakeholders, including management, program offices, and military personnel
  • Experience in a role that required strong analytical skills to evaluate complex systems and identify potential safety issues

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 3+ years of higher education and/or related work experience (Higher education includes college, university, technical school, licensing/certification programs, etc.) (Mid-Level Level 3)
  • Experience working effectively in a team environment
  • Strong commitment to innovation and a proven track record of achieving success

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.  

Summary Pay Range Associate (Level 2): $81,600- $110,400

Summary Pay Range Mid-Level (Level 3): $97,750- $132,250
