Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) Business Development is seeking a Capture Tools & Process Specialist to join the Capture Tools & Processes group located in Berkeley, MO or various other Boeing Capture Excellence locations.

In this role, you will work in a collaborative environment to evaluate, update, implement, and sustain Capture Tools and Processes to align with Business Capture strategic goals, per Boeing Acquisition processes. The Capture Tools & Processes team supports Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) and Boeing Global Services (BGS).  The areas of focus are:

  • Proposal Management Tools
  • Proposal Software Applications
  • Knowledge Management Tools/Processes
  • Strategy/Offer Development
  • Proposal Development Processes           

Position Responsibilities:

  • Coordinates near and long term strategy planning sessions for proposal Capture Teams of increasing levels of scope and complexity.
  • Coaches teams on how to use the templates and guidelines for the determination of probability of program go and win.
  • Supports technology road mapping or program road mapping. Leads multi-disciplinary marketing and sales teams in implementation of established processes for acquiring new business.
  • Facilitates teams in the use of new business acquisition processes and tools.
  • Prevents or resolves complex problems; selects, evaluates and applies company standards, policies and procedures.
  • Diagnoses campaign-related process or tool problems and develops a real-time or work-around. Administers proposal consultant process.
  • Facilitates, develops and delivers increasingly complex training to new business capture teams by identifying needed knowledge, skills and abilities from lessons learned, historical data and management/customer requests, researching and writing material (student and instructor aids) per established design procedures, piloting prototypes, reviewing evaluations and feedback, revising as needed, providing final product and gathering and providing metrics for the purpose of ensuring use of established and agreed to processes and increasing the win rate of new business acquisition.
  • Resolves proposal execution issues and problems by identifying and applying appropriate company directives and processes.
  • Leads proposal teams to include medium to large proposals, and may be alternate or back-up proposal manager for a medium to large, complex proposals.
  • Coordinates process activities necessary to complete proposal processes with cross functional and external proposal team members (supplies, key partners, teammates).
  • Serves as organization representative or leader on cross-functional teams that may include executives.
  • Represents Business Development interests on cross-functional teams.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • 3+ years of experience supporting the development and/or implementation of new business processes or tools in a large and complex business environment
  • 3+ years of experience in the acquisition and execution environment within the US Department of Defense (DOD) and/or the Defense Industry
  • Experience with multiple successful competitive government acquisitions
  • Experience completing process-oriented tasks accurately and in an organized manner
  • Experience in cross-functional leadership, collaborative problem solving, building lasting relationships & proficiency in written and verbal communication
  • Experience, and at least considered an intermediate user, with office tools such Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Experience coaching, guiding, and leading teams
  • Effective communication, organizational and team-oriented skills
  • Experience working with agile principles and frameworks
  • Capable of traveling up to 25% of the time
  • Ability to lead Capture Tools and Processes projects in alignment with Business Development goals and resources, including budget, schedules and performance measures
  • Ability to tailor methods and adapt to dynamic environments
  • Level 4: 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Typical Education/Experience:

Level 3:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 6 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Master+4 years' related work experience, 10 years' related work experience, etc.).

Level 4:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 10 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Master+8 years' related work experience, 14 years' related work experience, etc.).

Travel:

The individual may be required to travel to St. Louis and/or Boeing sites to work with the Capture Tools & Processes Team at the frequency and duration as determined necessary to fulfill the team goals.

Relocation:

Relocation assistance is not a negotiable benefit for this position. Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.

Salaries are based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. 

Summary pay range level 3: $90,000 – $115,000

Summary pay range level 4: $107,950 – $146,050
