Are you ready to take your career to new heights? We invite you to become a vital member of our Maintenance Repair and Overhaul (MRO) Services team at RAAF Base Amberley, Queensland. We are looking for skilled Aviation Maintenance professionals to support the Royal Australian Air Forces remarkable C-17A Globemaster III aircraft.

In this role, you will engage in specialised repair and overhaul of C-17A Aircraft Wheel and Tyre assemblies, alongside general maintenance, servicing, modification, and troubleshooting of aircraft engines and other C-17A specific roll-on equipment. Your contributions will directly support the workhorse of the Royal Australian Air Force, playing a crucial role in maintaining the operational readiness of our defence aircraft.

Core Skills

  • Be able to demonstrate a sound knowledge of Aviation Quality Assurance (QA) procedures
  • Knowledge of Environmental, Health, and Safety procedures
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders.

Key Experiences

  • Familiarity with Back Shop processes and procedures is a plus, but not mandatory.
  • Proficiency in computer-based maintenance management systems.
  • Comprehensive understanding of Part 145 Aircraft Maintenance Regulatory Framework via either:
    • Defence Aviation Safety Regulation (DASR)
    • Civil Aviation Safety Regulations (CASR) or
    • European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA)

Necessary requirements

  • Certificate IV in Aeroskills (Mechanical)
    • C class driver's license.
    • Australian Citizenship, with the ability to obtain and maintain an NV1 AGSVA clearance

What you need to know

  • No Shift work! Work a compressed 38hr week.
  • Shift hours: 6am - 4pm Monday to Thursday.
  • Hourly rate: AME 2($47.06) or AME 3($51.50) per hour, plus Super. (Depending on experience)

Security Clearance

You will be required to successfully undergo the vetting process for a government security clearance (Negative Vetting One) sponsored by BDA. Therefore, you must be willing to disclose all relevant and required information and must have the ability to verify your background for whole of life i.e. birth to present time.
