Boeing Brazil is seeking a Propulsion Structures Engineering Manager, reporting to the Propulsion Systems Senior Management, working out of the São José dos Campos - SP office.
The Propulsion Structures Engineering Manager will join the Propulsion Structures team and will be responsible for leading and inspiring a group of employees performing engineering, technical, and regulatory tasks in the areas of BCA Propulsion Structures.

The position includes responsibility for developing and executing project and process plans, implementing policies and procedures, setting operational goals for the team, and acquiring financial and technical resources. This role includes a significant level of mentoring, developing, and motivating direct reports.

As an Engineering Manager, you will provide a variety of technical solutions in support of existing and future commercial airplane products. The successful candidate will have strong engineering expertise, possess outstanding communication skills, and demonstrate the ability to build collaborative relationships.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Manage employees performing engineering and technical tasks in the areas of the BCA Propulsion Structures Design Center or Platform/Program teams.
  • Support a variety of Boeing products, including the 737, 747, 767, 777, and 787.
  • Develop and execute project and process plans, implement policies and procedures, and set operational goals.
  • Coordinate engagement with BCA engineering counterparts located in the USA (Charleston, Puget Sound, and Long Beach) and India.
  • Acquire resources for projects and processes, including budget and staffing.
  • Provide technical and project oversight of suppliers.
  • Develop and maintain relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners, and direct reports.
  • Provide oversight and approval of technical approaches, products, and processes.
  • Lead and foster process improvements.
  • Develop and maintain a culture of seeking to understand, courage to speak up, active listening, and servant leadership to manage, develop, and motivate employees.
  • Lead and manage a team of engineers in the design and analysis of propulsion structures.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of engineering processes and best practices.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful integration of propulsion systems into aircraft designs.
  • Coordinate team structural analysis and validation of propulsion components to meet safety and performance standards.
  • Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources effectively.
  • Mentor and develop engineering talent within the team.
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations and company policie

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. This means that the selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Must have existing rights to work in Brazil.
  • Must have a Bachelor Degree in Engineering 
  • Fluent in both written and verbal English.
  • In-depth experience in the aerospace industry.
  • Experience or familiarity with aerospace products.
  • Experience leading a team, formally or informally.
  • 5+ years of engineering experience.
  • Proven leadership experience in managing engineering teams and projects.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Preferred Qualifications (Education/Experience):

  • Experience in management or leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of structural analysis tools and methodologies.
  • Experience with advanced propulsion technologies and materials.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements and certification processes.
  • Experience with or a desire to learn Agile project management methods.
  • Experience in requirements management.
  • Experience with system safety assessment/functional hazard assessment methodology.
  • Previous experience in a managerial role within the aerospace industry.
  • Post-secondary education or master’s degree in an engineering-related field or Business Administration (MBA).

This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.

Additional Information:

This requisition is for a locally hired position in Brazil. Candidates must have current legal authorization to live and work in Brazil. Benefits and pay are determined at the local level and are not part of Boeing U.S. based payroll.
