Boeing Defense Space and Security (BDS) is seeking a highly motivated Electrical Design and Analysis Engineer (Mid-Level or Senior) to join our P-8A Advanced Airborne Sensor (AAS) Hardware Design team in Richardson, TX. This role will serve as an individual contributor, focusing on the full Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) of design, procurement, installation, and sustainment of hardware supporting the P-8A AAS Training Systems and Mission Systems programs.

Position Responsibilities:

    Create and develop electrical system designs to include server rack designs, wiring schematics, complex laboratory systems, and network diagrams.

    Utilize Visio and TeamCenter software to produce detailed schematics, designs, and layouts of customer delivered lab equipment and training systems.

    Conduct electrical analysis and testing to validate designs and ensure performance specifications are met.

    Perform troubleshooting and root cause analysis on electrical systems.

    Prepare and maintain comprehensive documentation, including bill-of-materials, design specifications, cold-start procedures, and customer site layout diagrams.

    Collaborate with cross-functional teams in an Agile environment to ensure all project requirements are met.

    Assist in project bidding, planning and scheduling, ensuring timely delivery of engineering solutions.

    Participate in design reviews and provide technical guidance and solutions to junior engineers.

    Work with and support Supplier Management to ensure timely delivery of hardware through the procurement process.

    Stay updated with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices in electrical design and analysis.

    Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement solutions to enhance efficiency and quality.

Conduct research and development as needed for program objectives utilizing emerging hardware technologies.

This position requires an active U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active).

This position requires the ability to obtain TS/SCI and Program access.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  •     Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
  •     5+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience, particularly with electrical hardware system designs.
  •     Willing and able to travel up to 10% of the time domestically for remote installations

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 9+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
  • Familiarity with P-8A systems
  • Familiarity with configuring networking systems
  • Experience with both Windows and Linux operating systems
  • Experience building test scripts and automation
  • Visio, Jira and/or TeamCenter experience
  • Experience performing in an Agile environment
  • Experience working on US Government contracts
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills   
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities

Relocation:

This position does not offer relocation.  The selected candidate will need to be located in the surrounding area or relocate at their own expense.

This is a 1st shift position.

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.  


Summary pay range Mid-Level: $102,850 – 139,150
Summary Pay Range Senior:$128,350 – 173,650
