Job Description

The Boeing Global Services (BGS) and the Training & Simulation Digital Services Team is seeking a Lead-Level Flight Simulator Services & Solutions Project Engineer to support our team in Miami, FL.

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled candidate to lead the technical product development of innovative solutions that support pilot training. The successful applicant will be responsible for developing and sustaining a range of solutions, including simulated avionics and virtualized products across multiple levels of training. This role will focus on the of needs of internal and external customers with a primary emphasis will be on technical lifecycle support. The individual will assist management in creating long-term plans for product development and maintenance. The candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement high-fidelity training systems that support various types of aircraft, ensuring the delivery of quality solutions that provide value and flexibility to the training industry. Applicants must possess strong technical knowledge of aircraft flight deck components and systems and demonstrate the ability to work independently with minimal direction. Position Responsibilities:

  • Designs concepts to mimic Boeing aircraft components and systems for training device solutions. 
  • Develops statement of work (SOW) to satisfy research and development, ongoing and new business requirements for products and solutions.
  • Works with customers, suppliers, team leads and management to obtain approvals and develop product requirements.
  • Responds to changes to SOW, assesses the impact and negotiates proposed changes to determine modifications to the deliverables, resources, costs and schedules.
  • Leads project execution to complete the work statement and identifies performance metrics.
  • Plans, identifies, and coordinates resources required over the life of the project or program.
  • Works with Finance to track project budget and report deviations.
  • Defines plans for risk mitigation and opportunity.
  • Compares actual results to baseline plan to assess project performance, efficiencies, productivity, and lessons learned.
  • Provides technical, business and integration leadership for the development and execution of project or team plans.
  • Acts as the focal point for Training Device Manufacturers (TDM), Airplane Customers, and internal/external training centers.
  • Acts as a technical liaison between Supplier Management, TDM, Boeing, and supplier technical staff to manage engineering requirements.
  • This position requires strong coordination and communication skills, as well as the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Guides others and directs all phases of assigned cross-organizational or business unit integrated project activities demonstrating proficiency in all product ownership areas.
  • Provides engineering technical support to sustaining programs as required.
  • Ensure the launch of the Boeing Flight Management System & related solutions is successful.
  • Work under limited supervision.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location, Miami, FL.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.
  • 10+ years' experience in the field of simulation, particularly aircrew (flight) simulators and/or trainers.
  • 5+ years' experience in troubleshooting and testing hardware and software.
  • 5+ years' experience with electronic/electrical systems.
  • Ability to work variable shifts, including weekends.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 10+ years' experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience with aircraft configuration management & documentation.

Salaries are based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. 

Summary pay range: $116,000 - $207,000
