The Boeing Test & Evaluation (BT&E) organization is seeking a Senior Bombers Manager to join our team in Edwards, AFB, CA. The selected candidate will lead BT&E's B-1B and B-52 Test Programs at EAFB.

Position Responsibilities Include:

  • Manages employees and first-level managers performing activities within multiple (2 or more) Engineering disciplines

  • Develops and executes integrated departmental plans, policies and procedures and provides input on departmental business and technical strategies, goals, objectives

  • Acquires resources for department activities, provides technical management of suppliers and leads process improvements

  • Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports

  • Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes

  • Manages, develops and motivates employees and first-level managers

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement

  • 8+ years' of experience in an engineering technical lead or management role

  • 8+ years’ experience working across functional groups and engineering disciplines on a Military aircraft program

  • Experience synthesizing program/project/SOW requisition into actionable and measurable tasks

  • Experience with systems engineering, configuration management, and quality management functions, processes and requirements

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 5+ years of experience in flight test engineering or related engineering disciplines supporting complex aerospace programs

  • 5+ years of experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams in test planning, execution, and data analysis across multiple functions

  • 5+ years of experience in B-1B and B-52 engineering and existing engineering technical network across engineering groups/skills.

  • 5+ years of experience working on B-1B and B-52 design/repair (Operational, Depot, Repair/Overhaul, and/or Build/Manufacturing) for structural/avionic/electronic/electrical systems/subsystems.

  • 5+ years of experience applying program and project management principles (scheduling, risk management, cost control, and performance tracking)

  • 3+ years of experience with direct involvement in mentoring, developing and evaluating, engineering personnel across various disciplines and/or functions.

  • 3+ years of experience developing and applying engineering processes, procedures and process-based metrics to drive efficiency.

  • Familiarity with DCMAI 8210.1C/D

  • Skilled at presenting technical content to program leadership, Air Force customers, and integrated test teams with clarity and precision

  • Ability to negotiate, influence, and build consensus with diverse stakeholders including government, program management, and engineering leadership

  • Ability to understand and convey the big picture and the inter/Intra-relationships of skills and activities at the system and aircraft level, including the impact of changes in one area on another area.

  • Ability to communicate complex concepts clearly across different audiences and varying levels of the organizations/Military ranks to convey product design/repair

Summary pay range: $181,900– $246,100
