The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) team is seeking a First Line Leader to join the Air Dominance Platform Structures Capability and lead the T-7A Service Life Organization in Berkeley, MO.

The T-7A Redhawk is the next trainer for our USAF customer and will be instrumental in preparing our next generation fighter pilots.  This individual will lead fatigue & fracture engineers in executing the full-scale fatigue test efforts, supporting the EMD/LRIP build through disposition of NCRs, and maturing the Aircraft Structural Integrity Program (ASIP) to effectively sustain the fleet throughout its lifetime.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of engineers with diverse skill levels (direct reporting and influence) by providing direction/guidance & mentorship.

  • Provide technical guidance through experience and network ensuring that analyses are accurate and reliable.

  • Ability and willingness to make technical decisions based on data, experience, engineering judgement, & input from SMEs/leads

  • Collaborate with other disciplines such as strength, design, manufacturing, & quality to ensure integration across the value stream.

  • Effectively communicate findings, recommendations, and project status to stakeholders through reports and presentations.

  • Oversee multiple projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and meet technical requirements. This includes resource allocation and risk management.

  • Develop and implement strategies that align with organizational goals and industry standards.

  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement by identifying areas for process enhancement and implementing best practices.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.

This position also requires the ability to travel 10% of the time

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret clearance post-Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in mechanical, aerospace or civil engineering

  • 3+ years of experience in an engineering leadership role (either as a lead or a manager)

  • 5+ years of technical experience as a fatigue and fracture engineer

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 1+ years of experience with Earned Value Management (EVM)

  • 1+ years of experience working with cross-functional teams to include engineering, program management, and/or finance

  • 1+ years of experience with mentoring, coaching, guiding, and leading teams of junior and peer engineers

  • 3+ years of experience with software toolsets used for structural and fatigue analysis
