The Boeing Enterprise Product Security Engineering (PSE) functional office is seeking an experienced and highly motivated technical leader to join our functional office team as a Product Security Engineering Leader, and the Enterprise Operational Technology (OT) Product Security Technical Chief Engineer.  PSE is responsible for ensuring the security, resilience, and safety of Boeing’s Operational Technology environments, which are critical to Boeing’s productions systems, and partnering with multiple organizations and functions to optimize OT governance, risk management, and technology investment decisions.

The Technical Chief Engineer will be the primary PSE technical interface partnering with multiple functional organizations involved in Enterprise OT (Production Engineering, IT&DA Boeing Enterprise Security, Global Real Estate and Facilities, BR&T, BT&E). Additionally, the OT PSE CE will represent Boeing to external stakeholders, regulators (e.g. FAA, EASA, CAAC, etc.), customers (BCA / BDS / BGS), government agencies (e.g. US DHS), and industry working groups. The OT PSE CE will guide Boeing’s activities related to Cybersecurity Maturation Model Certification (CMMC). This position is on site in Seattle, WA or Everett, WA.

Primary responsibilities:

  • Principle technical Subject Matter Expert (SME) for all Product Security Engineering related concerns in enterprise operational technology
  • Establishing, executing, and maturing technology and personnel strategy that elevates and integrates PSE personnel and activity across the enterprise
  • Lead Enterprise OT Program Office (SOTER) technical working groups
  • Oversee OT security requirements, architectures, and risks, issues and opportunities
  • Establishing and executing OT program office and proposal technology, and operations strategies including roadmaps for technology, implementation plans for secure automation and operationalization of the secure factory plan
  • Provide technical oversight for Production Security Engineering teams deployed to Boeing production facilities and related facilities and labs, providing technical direction, partner and teammate mentorship, and review and assessment of program performance and artifacts
  • Primary OT focal and SME for Product Security related compliance and certification concerns
  • Provide technical oversight for OT Vulnerability Management and Incident Response
  • Propose investments in virtual OT testing capabilities
  • Support Production Engineering management in developing equipment engineering skills related to secure and resilient operational technology
  • Establishing and aligning OT technical requirements with Boeing enterprise investments and priorities to maximize value and utility
  • PSE focal and leader for OT-related Command Media, Boeing Enterprise Design Practices, Standards and Technologies related to Operational Technology, and ensure the implementation and tailoring across the enterprise OT environments
  • Member of PSE Tech Board, representing enterprise operational technology

In addition to the PSE OT Technical Chief Engineer role, as an engineering leader in PSE, this role is expected to:

  • Support PSE functional office priorities and special assignments at the direction of functional office leadership
  • Lead and contribute to select design practices for the functional office
  • Support enterprise special issue response and vulnerability concerns as part of expert call-tree for the functional office
  • Supporting workforce strategy and training special assignments for the functional office

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills and Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
  • 8+ years of experience in a role that required teaming and collaboration skills, and ability to work well with a geographically dispersed cross-functional and matrix team
  • 2+ years of experience leading a team and/or technical project

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills and Experience):

  • Experience in presenting data to customers, suppliers, and program and site leaders.
  • Experience with Systems Security Engineering and breaking down requirements
  • Excellent written/oral communication skills to effectively convey cybersecurity concepts across business and technical stakeholders
  • Experience in security architectures, network security, embedded systems security, security testing and evaluation, network design, PKI infrastructure
  • Cybersecurity Certifications not limited to Security+, CISSP, CEH etc.
  • Knowledge of Secure Software Development Framework (NIST SP 800-218), or CISA Self-Attestation Common Form
  • General knowledge of DoD, NASA and FAA security requirements related to Product Security

Summary Pay Range: $199,750 -$270,250
