Boeing Global Services is looking for a Senior Engagement Leader (m/f/d) specializing in commercial aircraft Technical Operations to join our team.

We are looking for a leader with a vision for the future of services in the Technical Operations domain. Including maintenance engineering, execution and optimization through utilization of data, analytics and technology.

This dynamic and rewarding position is within the ABS Profit and Loss (P&L) business where Engagement Leaders build discrete and unique projects and services within the aviation ecosystem.  This specific position reports to the Aviation Engineering Services Practice Principal, however the role is a semi-autonomous one where the Engagement Leader independently pursues opportunities by working directly with customers to understand their challenges and, utilizing their experience, creativity and entrepreneurial skills, develops actionable proposals and services to address their problems and add value to their business operations.  Being a P&L, it is critical that our Senior Engagement Leaders are credible experts in the businesses we support; the ability to listen to our customers’ problems, understand the underlying business challenges and processes, develop customized solutions that provide value to the customer, and execute on these projects is core to our mission.  This work requires effective communication at all levels of management, from the C-Suite to front-line employees. 

Aviation Business Solutions

Our current team of high-caliber Engagement Leaders work collaboratively to leverage Boeing's unique Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) vast span of technical knowledge and aircraft expertise, including those of our strategic suppliers, to deliver operational and technical solutions to globally diverse aviation operators (Commercial and Business Aviation), domestic and foreign governments, airports, and maintenance providers

Examples of Aviation Engineering Services include, but are not limited to:

  • Development and management of Aircraft Maintenance Programs.

  • Development and management of Reliability Programs.

  • Service Bulletin and Airworthiness Directive assessment.

  • Creation of Engineering Orders and Task Cards.

  • Utilization of Aircraft Health Management systems.

  • Implementation and utilization of component and aircraft reliability analytics.

  • Advanced use of major Maintenance Management Systems (such as AMOS, TRAX, Maintenix).

Position Responsibilities:

The core responsibility of the Sr. Engagement Leader includes the comprehensive activities of being the direct technical interface with the customer and building trust in our capabilities, understanding their unique problems and identifying custom solutions, developing the Statements of Work, negotiating our contracts and ensuring we complete the projects in terms of quality, schedule and budget. 

 Network Development

  • Building direct relationships with team leaders and members within Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) / Boeing Global Services (BGS) Sales and Marketing.

  • Building a strong network both inside and outside Boeing.

  • Facilitating customer engagement workshops.

  • Lead and direct Interviews with Customer employees, Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and other stakeholders.

  • Engaging and communicating directly and effectively with the highest levels of aviation business leadership (C-Suite / Executive / Leadership, etc.).

  • Speaking at industry forums on applicable topics to generate visibility of services and capabilities.

Opportunity Development

  • Creating and developing business opportunities from leads with Sales and Aviation Business Solutions Principals.

  • Conducting research, collecting data, performing analysis and utilizing tools and frameworks to formulate the highest possible value propositions for services and proposals.

  • Utilizing airline/MRO/Airport/etc. experience and customer interactions to identify new business opportunities and develop those opportunities into real business offerings to generate additional contracted work and revenue.

  • Identifying gaps in Boeing’s capabilities pertaining to a customer’s needs, then establish and develop external partnerships to fill those gaps.

Proposal and Go-to-Market Strategy Development

  • Developing and managing large scale, potentially complex engagements with firm, fixed price statements of work.

  • Identifying and driving additional opportunities during an established customer engagement (cross-sell / up-sell).

  • Creating strategies to gain visibility of new services and capabilities within the applicable markets.

Project Execution and Service Deployment

  • Ownership of the customer engagement - scope definition, internal / external team development (Boeing SMEs, Customer team members, contractors, etc.), budget and schedule (revenue, earnings and timelines) and overall project management.

  • Communicating directly with Government / Regulatory agency leadership as needed in support of an engagement.

Other

  • Working with a high level of autonomy (minimal supervision) while staying within Boeing’s policies and procedures.

  • Traveling, both Domestically and Internationally to support projects and other business activities.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor's degree with minimum 15 or more years' airline Maintenance and Engineering or Technical Operations department.

  • Minimum 5 years in a Senior Management role leading Technical Operations functions at an airline, VIP operation or similar business.

  • Experience leading Technical Operations functions at Commercial Airlines and / or VIP Operations.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills including business letters, reports and presentations.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Experience developing capabilities, business cases, go-to-market strategies and proposals.

  • Experience leading workshops, developing processes, implementing processes and developing metrics to measure and positively influence the success of a service or project.

  • Experience public speaking and presenting thought leadership in the airline Technical Operations domain.

  • Experience sourcing experienced vendors and partners to deliver services and solutions.

  • Minimum 1 year Technical or Management Consulting experience.

  • FAA and EASA regulatory knowledge or experience. Entry into this classification is limited to candidates approved by the enterprise-wide Program Management Process Council or its designee.

  • Applicable and appropriate educational/certification credentials from an accredited institution and/or equivalent experience are required.

Relocation: This position does not offer relocation. Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.

Important information regarding this requisition: This requisition is for a locally hired position in GERMANY. Candidates must have current legal authorization to live and work in Germany. Benefits and pay are determined at the local level and are not part of Boeing U.S. based payroll.
